Doom 3 Review

December 21, 2005

If you enjoyed the journey to hell and back in Doom 3, then you may enjoy the expansion of the ever popular action shooter game.
In Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, you return to the Union Aerospace Cooperation Mars Research Facility (UAC). You are to investigate a strange beacon that is buried underneath the ruins of an ancient civilization.

Resurrection of Evil is very similar to the previous edition, DOOM 3. The controls are the same, the musical score is very creepy, the graphics are highly detailed and frightening, and you can always expect intense action and lots of things to shoot up! It does have a new and dramatic story, but the majority of the game focuses on shooting things up...which is the most enjoyable part!

This game does have some differences than its predecessor, however. For starters, there are new weapons. One is the Grabber gun. This weapon allows you to shoot various objects, including fireballs. Your annoying, yet much needed flashlight is now attached to your pistol. Previous weapons from the last game are still available such as the shot gun and the plasma rifle.

Another huge difference is that you now obtain the Artifact. The Artifact allows you to manipulate time to aid you in battle. You can slow down time to kill the baddies without so much as getting a scratch. The Artifact also enables you to posses the power of some of the demons.

Although Resurrection of Evil is an expansion of Doom 3, you can still expect new demons, new levels, and more realistic and intense action. With XBOX live, you can play online for multiplayer action. There is also a death match mode that is a lot of fun.

If you are a fan of massive blood splatters and constant shooting then this is the game for you. In Resurrection of Evil, there is not a moment to rest. You will be constantly running around shooting everything in your path! It is one of the most gripping and fast paced action shooters around!

Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is available on XBOX or for your PC. It has an ESRB rating of M for Mature. This is because the game features gore, blood, and intense violence. This means you "youngins" can't purchase it without the help of your parents.
